i notice you seem to have a favorite textured brush, at least for finishing, the lined almost scraper like brush that you use for everything from skin to metal and it works a charm. it does make me wonder how much do you vary your brushes while working on a piece? i mean, i'm trying out some more realistic style colouring (no where near your level and ps isn't a painter package sadly) but i can't ever get past a certain level of detail, like little bits of corrosion and marking on metals and hair detail, which you seem to make so easy!
don't know if it means much, but you are a massive inspiration to me - genius art on subjects i love!
I use quite a lot of brushes on rough surfaces. The smoother the surface, the less rough brush work it gets. I just play around with as many chalky and pastel-like brushes Painter has to offer to get the metal-corrosion effect I want. <3
just had a look at your commission info... geez!
a) i wish i had enough money spare
b) daym i wish my art was worth that!
just how long have you been doing this style of work?
And I agree with the dragon part, but... ah well.
