This is my personal input for Operation Moonfall - which is an project made by fans in order of requesting Nintendo for Majora's Mask to be released on the 3DS.
It represents the amount of "time" left that you have in the game (3 days) with the hourglass. Link is given the responsibility of saving Clocktown and the world from when the moon falls in 3 days by the power of Majora's Mask, which is worn by the Skull kid.
The clocks represents the "power" that Link hold within his hands (the ocarina of time), by making it go faster, skipping ahead, or going back to starting point by having 3 days left again. In a recent interview with Nintendo Power, Eiji Aonuma said this:
“It’s been 13 years since Ocarina of Time was originally released, and one of the big things that we made this remake possible was that there was an outpour of emotions from people who said they would like to see this game done. We said we could do it in 3D, so we did. I think certainly if there was a similar output of emotion and clamor from fans for a remake of Majora’s Mask, it wouldn’t be an utter impossibility“You can help to support this cause by:

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask was an excellent game released for the Nintendo 64 console originally. If Ocarina of Time made it on the 3DS, let's help to bring Majora's Mask on the 3DS too!
